I’ve always wanted my house to feel like it’s bursting with Christmas joy. Every year I try my hardest but it falls short of amazing. I’m not very talented in home decor and all the details that takes something simple and makes it gorgeous.
BUT… my Mom is!!! She is in a small percentage of people who has vision and is able to make anything look beautiful. I have no idea how she does it! When she came into town I asked her to help me with my tree. She kindly put my existing ornaments on my tree and told me it looked pretty. I know that means it actually doesn’t look good at all and she is being very nice.
So I told her I want to scrap everything and start over. And she was in charge, she can do whatever she wants to make my tree beautiful. We went to Hobby Lobby and Crate & Barrel. I walked around with a shopping cart as my Mom and sister threw stuff in that I needed.
When we got home my Mom immediately got to work. It took her several hours and she made the bow on top herself!! (I’m soooo impressed with her bow making skills because I could never do it!) I waited upstairs and came down with my eyes closed for the big reveal. I couldn’t believe my eyes!!! I now have the most beautiful tree! And it’s in my house!!! I’ve never had my house feel so much like Christmas!
My Mom told me the key to having a beautiful tree is to first choose a theme. Mine is red, green and gold. So everything she picked out is one of those three colors. The next thing is to have texture. Don’t get all round ornaments. Instead get different shape ornaments to keep things interesting.
I am so thankful that my Mom and sister came up and stayed with me for over a week and helped me! I can’t wait for Christmas morning with my new beautiful tree!!
Everything on my tree is from Hobby Lobby or Crate & Barrel. Check your local Hobby Lobby (if you have one) for the glittery round ornaments, ribbon and sprays. Crate & Barrel ornaments are here, here (most have sold out).
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!!!
